Artur Gaspar dos Anjos Teixeira foi um escultor português, nascido em 18 de Julho de 1880 e falecido em 4 de Março de 1935. Estudou escultura na Escola de Belas-Artes de Lisboa, onde foi aluno de Simões de Almeida Sobrinho e de Costa Mota Sobrinho. Continuou os seus estudos em Paris, entre 1907 e 1914, com o apoio de uma bolsa de estudo, tendo exposto no Salon. Com a Grande Guerra, regressou a Portugal e adquiriu um atelier em Lisboa. A sua obra destaca-se pelo realismo naturalista, sobressaindo em obras que figuram costumes da gente do povo, bem como no retrato e trabalhos de carácter alegórico e celebrativo, como o caso da República da Assembleia (1916).

He studied sculpture at the School of fine arts of Lisbon, where he was a pupil of Simões de Almeida Sobrinho and Costa Mota Sobrinho. He continued his studies in Paris, between 1907 and 1914, with the support of a scholarship, having exposed at the Salon. With the Great War, he returned to Portugal, acquiring a workshop in Lisbon. His work is distinguished in a naturalistic and realistic style, standing out in works that include representation of commoners, in portrait, as well as allegorical and celebrating works as the Republic (1916).
